The world’s most iconic trainers go green

When adidas announced they would launch a 100% sustainable models of their iconic Stan Smiths at the end of last year, we couldn’t wait to see the result. Halfway through 2021, we must say we’re in love. This isn’t the first time that Adidas have ventured in to vegan footwear. In 2018, they collaborated with Stella McCartney on their first ever vegan Stan Smiths, launching with new models in 2019 and 2020. However, this year they decided to start a green revolution - they’re planning to achieve 100% recycled polyester use across all adidas products by 2024, and climate neutrality by 2050.

Adidas’ new Stan Smith models are made with a unique, eco-friendly ‘Primegreen’ recycled poly upper, recycled rubber outsole, recycled Ortholite sockliners, recycled polyester and rubber laces, and come in a box made of more than 90% recycled paper. What else to say – our Planet loves them already!

When adidas decides to do something, then of course they’re going to do it their way. They recently collaborated with iconic brand Disney on Stan Smith Kermit the frog-inspired shoes, delivering fun and ethical trainers in every sense of the word.  And this is just a start.
