Eight wardrobe essentials made from organic cotton

Cotton is the most profitable non-food crop in the world and unsurprisingly the most commonly used fabrics within the fashion industry. Worryingly conventional Cotton is also dubbed the dirtiest crop in the world. A report by McKinsey in 2020 revealed that “although cotton grows on only 2.4 percent of global cropland, it accounts for 22.5 percent of the world’s insecticide and 10 percent of all pesticide use”.

The consequences are devastating as harmful chemicals contaminate the earth, air and water, posing a significant threat to the health and well-being of agricultural workers and major ecosystems.

A sustainable alternative is organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals, sustaining the health of the soil, environment and people whilst also using less water, less energy and releasing fewer greenhouse gasses. It’s a win-win for people and the planet!

Cotton is a part of our everyday so to help you transition you transition towards a more sustainable wardrobe we’ve put together 8 everyday wardrobe essentials that are made from organic cotton.
